Naxal Carrying Rs 1 Lakh Bounty Arrested In Malkangiri

Malkangiri: Security forces today arrested a Maoist involved in the murder of a civilian in the district on January 4. The accused Maoist identified as Chandan Sisa (23) a native of Dhakadpadar in Malkangiri was nabbed by the Border Security Force (BSF) in Cut Off area of Malkangiri district.

Police said that the group of Maoists including Sisa had forcibly taken away one Shankar Muduli of Taber villager and had assaulted him with sharp-edged weapons depicting as police informer. They had also slit his throat and burnt the body. Later they had also dumped the body into the Chitrakonda reservoir to destroy evidence.

Police said that Sisa was an active member of the Andhra Odisha Border Special Zonal Committee (AOBSZC) and carried a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh. Sisa had joined the banned outfit as a militia in the year 2014. Police said that Sisa was also involved in three other murder cases in Malkangiri district.
