Naveen’s Swearing-in Ceremony To Be Held Out Of Raj Bhavan

The ceremony will be held at Exhibition Ground on Wednesday

Bhubaneswar: In a first, Naveen Patnaik will take oath as chief minister outside the Raj Bhavan. The sworn-in ceremony of BJD which will form the government for the fifth straight term will be held at the Idco Exhibition Ground.

Sources said that the oath-taking ceremony will be held between 10 am and 12 on Wednesday. Around 5000 guests including the newly elected legislators and BJD party functionaries will be a part of the ceremony.

Police said that the road connecting Ram Mandir Square and Housing Board Square will be declared as no vehicle zone. Besides traffic regulations will be enforced in and around the Exhibition Ground.

“ A preliminary meeting for smooth conduct of the ceremony was held today while another meeting will be convened on Sunday to finalise the detailed security arrangement,’ said a senior police official.

BJD led by Naveen Patnaik emerged as the largest single party in Odisha by winning 112 seats out of the 146 assembly constituencies where polls were held. Election for Patkura assembly segment in Kendrapra district has been postponed as Bed Prakash Agarawalla, who was contesting for this seat from BJD passed away a few days before the polls.
