Bhubaneswar: On a day when his trusted lieutenant Surjya Patro attended the nomination filing of NDA’s Presidential nominee Ram Nath Kovind, Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik wrote a letter to Pam Modi urging him not to go for disinvestment in NALCO.
Calling Nalco a symbol of Odisha’s pride, Naveen wrote about the discontentment among the people of Odisha and employees following the recent disinvestment effected by the Centre in the Navratna PSU.
Nalco had an excellent track record of performance and going to register further growth in future, he said.
Naveen also listed the initiatives taken by the State Govt to increase profits of Nalco, including the transfer of 74 million tons of bauxite deposit to Nalco.
