Naveen wishes speedy recovery to M Karunanidhi

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik wished speedy recovery to DMK supremo and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi on Tuesday.

Patnaik spoke to DMK working president and Karunanidhi’s son MK Stalin over the phone and inquired about his father’s health condition and wished him an early recovery.

Later taking to his twitter handle, the CM said, “Enquired about health of veteran leader and former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Dr M Karunanidhi on telecon with Working President DMK @arivalayam Shri. M K Stalin @mkstalin; conveyed our wishes for speedy recovery and good health for ‘Kalaingar’.”

Notably, Karunanidhi (94) has been admitted to the intensive care of a hospital in Chennai for the last four days due to age-related overall decline in his general health, liver and blood parameters.

Meanwhile, Aravindan Selvaraj, executive director of Kauvery hospital in a medical bulletin informed that the conditions which led to his admission last week had been normalised. But, an extended period of hospitalisation will be necessary due to age-related overall decline in his general health, altered liver function and haematological parameters, he added.
