Naveen Patnaik wishes for speedy recovery of former PM Vajpayee

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday took Twitter route to express his concern over former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s health and wished him a speedy recovery.

93-year-old Vajpayee was admitted to Delhi’s All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Monday for a urinary tract infection.

On Tuesday, AIIMS authority, in a media release, stated that Vajpayee is stable and is responding to treatment. It also stated that he will remain hospitalised till the infection is controlled.

A team of doctors under the supervision of AIIMS Director Randeep Guleria have been attending to Vajpayee.

Notably, Patnaik had served as the Union Minister for Mines under Vajpayee Government from March 1998 to March 2000.

Vajpayee became the Prime Minister of the country for 13 days in 1996, 13 months in 1998 and for almost six years from 1999. He is regarded as one of the tallest leaders of his party.

The seasoned politician, who is considered as the one of tallest leaders of saffron party, has been away from public life since 2009.

On December 25, the BJP-led government celebrates Good Governance Day to mark his birthday.
