Bhubaneswar: BJD president Naveen Patnaik today announced the formation of a social service wing of the party while flagging off the Jansampark Padayatra on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti at Kargil Basti near Bhimatangi here.
Patnaik said that social service is my favourite among all the programmes of the party. “It will focus on plantation and environment, blood donation and health assistance. Our objective would be to make Odisha clean, green and people of Odisha healthy,’ said the BJD supremo.
Patnaik said that the Jeevan Bindu programme launched by the party a few years ago has become a successful blood donation movement in the country. “We so far have collected 3 lakh units of blood to save lives. Active participation of people have provided impetus to the movement,” added the BJD president.
