National Tribal Festival ‘Aadi Mahotsav’ going on in Bhubaneswar #Watch

Bhubaneswar: National Tribal Festival ‘Aadi Mahotsav’ is going on with overwhelming participation by the city dwellers at Janata Maidan here. The 11-day event will continue till November 11.

As per reports, tribal artisans from different states across the country have come down to Bhubaneswar for taking part in the fest to showcase their masterpieces. Not only rare artworks, but the festival also has kiosks with mouthwatering cuisines for the visitors.

The event was inaugurated yesterday by Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Renuka Singh. She also tapped her feet with the tribal girls to the tune of tribal music.

Apart from exotic handicrafts, the Mahotsav also showcased folk dance and music of the tribals as a special attraction. The cultural show by the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) was the main attraction of the evening yesterday. Residents of the capital city are flocking to the venue to witness rare tribal accessories and artistic pieces.

Aadi Mahotsav (National Tribal Festival), is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India & Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED). The theme of the festival is: “A celebration of the spirit of Tribal Craft, Culture and Commerce”. TRIFED plays a significant role in a ‘Service provider’ & ‘Market Developer’ in promoting the skills and talents of the underprivileged and weaker community.
