Narrow escape for woman, newborn as ceiling fan falls in hospital

Dhenkanal: A woman and her new born baby had a narrow escape at Kamakhyanagar Primary Health Centre last night after a ceiling fan came unstuck and fell near their bed last night.

As per the report, the woman identified as Subhasini Baral of Batagaon village under of Kankadahada block had been admitted in the hospital last Saturday for delivery following pregnancy.

After giving birth to a girl child, Subhasini had been lodged in the Cabin-1 in the health centre when the ceiling fan in the room developed a technical glitch and fell down without hitting the patient.

Though both the mother and the child luckily escaped the mishap, their family members have expressed discontentment over the incident.
