Balasore: Over 50 passengers had a miraculous shave after a speeding truck hit the bus they were travelling in near Uttareswar bus stand under Soro police limits in Balasore district late last night.
However, the helper of the bus whose identity is yet to be ascertained yet sustained critical injury in the accident.
As per the report, the bus namely ‘Sahu’ bearing registration number-OD 01 S 1414 was heading to Jaleswar from State capital Bhubaneswar when the mishap took place. The driver of the bus had parked the bus near a culvert on NH-16 due to some reason when driver of a speeding truck (Registration Number- WB 41 H 2296) failed to spot it in dark and ended up hitting from the rear.
The impact of the collision was so serious that the truck got completely mangled from the front causing the bus to veer off the culvert. While the bus helper sustained critical injury in the crash passengers remained unhurt as it got stuck in a bush and didn’t fall off the culvert.
Local police has sent the injured helper to a nearby hospital for treatment after reaching the spot.
