Nandankanan gets a pair of grey wolves as new inmates

Bhubaneswar: The Nandankanan Zoological Park today received a pair of grey wolves as a part of animal exchange program as its new inmates.

The new inmates brought from Mysore in Karnataka State by exchanging a pair of mouse deer have been lodged in quarantine on the premises of zoo.

Both the wolves in the pair are aged about two and half years, informed zoo authorities.

The grey wolf is considered as an endangered species. It is a canine native to the wilderness and remote areas of Eurasia and North America.

The Grey Wolves are highly social animals that live in family groups called packs and well known for their unique hunting style.
