Nandankanan Botanical Garden to reopen from December 1

Bhubaneswar: The Botanical Garden of the Odisha’s famous Nandankanan Zoological Park, here, will reopen for visitors from December 1.

The zoo authorities have decided to open the Botanical Garden considering the fall in daily COVID cases in the state and demand by citizens for picnic location in the winters.

The garden remained closed for the visitors since the Covid lockdown period this year while the zoo was reopened in August.

The people who wish to have a feast can visit Nandankanan’s official website to book the spot and cottage for picnic in the botanical garden. The entry ticket for all above 12-years-old will be Rs 20.

Out of a total of 64 picnic spots in the garden, five small picnic spots will be available for Rs 300 while tickets for 59 large areas of picnic spots will be available at Rs 550. The tickets for as many as eight picnic sheds or kitchens will be available Rs 1,100.

Ten special picnic spots will cost Rs 1,600, two Hollywood Cottage tickets will cost Rs 2,600 and one FRH ticket will also be available at Rs 2,600.

The people will also be allowed entry into Jaydev Vatika where 30 spots will be made available for picnic purpose. In addition, 130 places will be available with all the necessary facilities for feasts inside the forest.

The people will have to pay Rs 1,800 for a separate picnic spots, while there will be a fee of Rs 800 for a party at designated spots inside the forest. There will be separate fee for the entry tickets into Jaydev Vatika.
