NALCO flags off battery vehicles in Puri for divyangs, senior citizens

Puri: In a bid to make the Pilgrim city pollution free ahead of the world famous Ratha Yatra, National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) authorities flagged off five battery operated vehicles for divyangs and senior citizens here yesterday.

NALCO CMD Tapan Kumar Chand flagged off the free service on the premises of Jagannath Ballav Mutt parking.

As of now only five vehicles will be engaged to carry passengers from Jagannath Ballav parking place to Sri Mandir.

Later, 25 such vehicles will be plying on the Grand Road in phase manner to provide free service to divyangs, senior citizens and ailing persons visiting Jagannath Temple.
