Nabajoubana Darshan of deities to be held at Puri Srimandir today

Puri: In the last phase of the preparation for the annual sojurn ‘Rath Yatra’ Lord Balabhadra, Jagannath and Goddess Subhadra will appear before the devotees for the much awaited ‘Nabajoubana Darshan’ at Puri Srimandir here today.

Ahead of the ‘Nabajoubana Darshan’ another important ritual ‘Banaka Lagi’ is being performed at the temple for which the general darshan for the devotees has been restricted till 2.30 PM.

During the ‘Banaka Lagi’ which started at around 9AM the Datta  Mohapatra servitors have started performing traditional ‘shringar’ or make up on the holy trinity. The ritual will continue till 12 noon.

Later, ‘Mangala Alati’ will be held at 12.30 PM followed by ‘Abakasha Niti’ at 1.15 PM and the deities will be taken to Ratna Singhasan (bejewelled throne) for the darshan.

The ‘Paramanik’ darshan or darshan by ticket holders will be held from the Bhitara  Katha of the sanctum sanctorum from 2.30 PM to 3.30 PM. Sarbasadharan darshan or free darshan by public will continue from 3.30 PM to 4.30 PM.
