Cuttack: The fear of mysterious animal killing sheep loomed large yet again in the district, after at least two sheep were found dead under suspicious circumstances in a resident’s house in Bagsarpur village under Mahanga police limits this morning.
The animal attack came to notice after one resident Mataji Mohanty went on an inspection of his cattle shed located at his backyard. At least two sheep were found in a pool of blood on the spot with their livers and intestines gouged out, pointing at a similar modus operandi of the predator with Niali sheep killing, which shook the state last year.
Mohanty immediately called up forest officials, who rushed to the village and examined the dead cattle.
The incident has left the villagers in a state of panic as forest officials suspect it to be a fresh case of mystery animal attack.
