My husband Sumeet Sahu absconded, alleges woman who sat on dharna in front of her in-law’s house in Berhampur

Berhampur: Tapaswini Dash, the woman who sat on dharna in front of her in-law’s house in Berhampur, made a serious allegation on Friday saying that her husband Sumeet Sahu absconded.

According to Tapaswini, her husband, who was living with her at a rented house following the advice of the Berhampur SDJM court, allegedly ran away from her.

Sumeet Sahu went missing since this morning, claimed Tapaswini.

Notably, Tapaswini and Sumeet had reportedly legally married at a marriage registrar’s office a while ago. Later, their families allegedly decided to solemnize their marriage through customary Hindu rituals on November 22. However, when Dimple and her family were waiting for Sumeet and his kin at the wedding venue, the latter did not turn up. Even they did not allegedly respond to phone calls.

Hence, Tapaswini and her mother went to her in-laws’ house at Brahma Nagar in the Silk City and staged a demonstration demanding that she should be accepted and allowed by Sumeet and his family members to live with them as Sumeet’s wife.

After she was not allowed to stay at her in-law’s house, Tapaswini filed a petition over the matter at the SDJM court, which while conducting a hearing on December 2 advised the couple to live together for a week at a rented house in Aska without meeting anyone.

The court also had directed Aska Police Station IIC to arrange the rented accommodation for them, provide them security and submit a daily report.

After they completed one week together, the Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate Court yesterday advised them to stay together for another 7 days at a rented house. However, Sumeet allegedly went absconding today.

Sumeet’s legal counsel yesterday sought seven more days to file his counter-affidavit over the petition filed by Tapaswini.
