Mutilated bodies of love birds found from Railway track in Odisha’s Balangir district, Suicide over love affair suspected

Balangir: In a tragic incident two mutilated bodies were found scattered on the railway track in Balangir district of Odisha on Tuesday. One of the bodies are said to be of a married woman while the other is of her lover.

The bodies were found in the Muribahal Salepada railway track near Kantabanji town.

The deceased woman has been identified as Pooja Rana of Baldas village and the male has been identified as Krishna Chandra Rana of Ghantabahal village.

According to reports, Pooja and Krishna had been in a love affair for a long time while their family members were against the relationship. Accordingly, they had knocked the door of local police station several times earlier.

They had tried to resolve the issue by mutual consent but in vain.

On Monday night while compromising the matter between both the families of the couple, Pooja insisted of staying with her boyfriend instead of her husband. Later, the couple’s family left both of them.

Today morning some people after seeing the mutilated body of the couple on railway track, informed their family members.

Upon receiving the information, Kantabanji GRP Police arrived at the spot and began investigation.

It has been suspected that the two have committed suicide due to failure in love relationship. However, the reason behind the death of the couple is expected to be ascertained following Police investigation and the autopsy report, locals said.
