Paralakhemundi: A youth was killed after being hit by an unknown vehicle in the Podashankha village under Mohana Police Station area in Gajapati district late last night.
The deceased has been identified as Ajit Pradhan of Kansamari village.
Ajit who visited neighbouring Chheligada village for some work yesterday, was returning home riding a bike when the mishap took place. He was struck by an unknown vehicle coming from the opposite direction near Kansamari Square and died on the spot.
Mohana Police reached the village later in the night and rushed the body to Mohana CHC for postmortem. They have also seized the mangled vehicle and trying to trace the unknown vehicle involved in the accident.
