Kendrapara: The most discussed Patkura Assembly election will finally take place tomorrow. Polling for the Patkura Assembly constituency was countermanded following the death of 82-year-old BJD candidate Bed Prakash Agarwalla on April 20. Hence, a fresh schedule was made for the election on May 19. However, the election was later postponed for two months due to cyclone Fani.
Around 2, 44,747 voters will cast their vote at 309 polling booths tomorrow to decide the fate of candidates who are in the fray for the Patkura Assembly election. Out of it 1, 27,431 are male voters while 1, 17,306 voters are female. The polling will be held from 7 am to 6 pm.

Campaigning for the ensuing polls in Patkura Assembly constituency in Kendrapara district concluded yesterday. Out of the 309 polling booths, 235 have been identified as sensitive. About one thousand seven hundred polling officers and other officials have been engaged to conduct the polls tomorrow. CCTV cams have been fixed in 40 booths while 31 booths will witness webcasting. There will be 52 micro observers. The counting of votes will take place on July 24.
BJD’s Sabitri Agarwalla, wife of Late Bed Prakash Agarwalla is contesting for Patkura elections 2019 in BJD ticket while Bijoy Mohapatra will contest from Bharatiya Janata Party. Congress is also in the race. However, the main fight is expected to be between BJD and BJP.
Meanwhile, today a delegation of BJD today met the Odisha Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) and Director General of Police (DGP) and demanded special security arrangement for smooth conduct of the election. On the other hand, a delegation of the Bharatiya Janata Party also met the Chief Electoral Officer and demanded a free and fair election.
