Morning walk turns fatal: Bhubaneswar man killed in road accident

Bhubaneswar: A resident of the state capital was killed while two others were critically injured after an unidentified vehicle hit them when they were going on morning walk on Monday. The accident took place near the main gate of Kalinga Stadium.

The deceased has been identified as Dambrudhar Behera, a resident of Behera Sahi in Nayapalli.

A speeding car hit Behera and his two daughters in front of Gate No-3 of Kalinga Stadium when they were on a morning walk. All of them were rescued by some locals and were rushed to a nearby hospital. However, Behera succumbed to his injuries. The condition of his daughters is stated to be critical.

Some locals staged a demonstration on the road alleging that the accident took place as morning walkers are the not allowed inside the stadium.

The agitators demanded that the gate of the stadium be opened for all, so that people can go there for their morning and evening walks.

They also demanded adequate compensation to the family of the deceased person.
