More than 20 injured as bus skids off road in Bhadrak

Bhadrak: More than 20 passengers have sustained injuries after a bus skid off the road in Bhadrak in the early hours of Wednesday.

The incident took place on National Highway 16 near Palada Banka in Bhandari Pokhari.

Reportedly, the bus named Jaga Kalia, carrying 65 people, was en route to Bhubaneswar from Kolkata. The vehicle rammed into the rear of a truck and skid off the road.

As a result, around 22 passengers have been injured while four have sustained critical injuries. On getting the information, Bhandaripokhari police arrived at the spot.

All of them were rushed to a local hospital for immediate medical treatment.

However, the four critically injured people were admitted to District Headquarter Hospital (DHH). Later, three among them were shifted to S.C.B. Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack as their health deteriorated. A probe has been initiated into the matter.
