Monsoon Session of Odisha Assembly to be held today, Budget for FY 2022-23 to be presented on first day

Bhubaneswar: The monsoon session of Odisha Legislative Assembly will begin from today that is July 2 and will continue till August 4. The house will run for 6 hours everyday.

On the first day of the session, Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari is slated to present the full-fledged State Budget for the year 2022-23. The budget amount is expected to exceed two lakh crore. Some new schemes might be presented during the budget session.

The full budget could be focused mainly on agriculture, mission power, health, education and infrastructure development etc.

Earlier, the full-fledged budget for the financial year 2022-23 could not be presented due to the Panchayat and Municipal elections. An interim budget of Rs one lakh six thousand crore was presented for the first four months.

Opposition parties are planning to address issues ranging from law and order to agriculture and farmers issues, unemployment, and power outages during the session. The government is ready to counter the opposition. The session will begin on July 2 and will continue till August 4.
