Monsoon in Odisha: Heavy rain alert in 13 places

Bhubaneswar: Odisha recorded 17.3% more rainfall than normal in the last 24 hours after the southwest monsoon touched the state. The Meteorological Department has informed that heavy rains are expected in 13 places in the state today.

According to the weather reports, yellow warnings have been issued to all the districts for today for an isolated thunderstorm with lightning.

The 13 places include Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Kandhamal, Balangir, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur.

Adding to it, the meteorological department warned of heavy rains in 12 districts on June 23, 10 districts on June 24, and 9 districts on June 25.

It is pertinent to mention that the Meteorological Department has informed that heavy rains are expected in the state for the next five days.
