Monsoon hits Odisha finally, brings respite from blistering heat
Bhubaneswar: Bringing big respite to the people of the State, the Southwest Monsoon has finally touched Odisha today, informed senior scientist of Indian Meteorological Department Mrutyunjay Mohapatra.
Informing on the onset of the monsoon in Odisha Mohapatra said, under its impact the southern part of the State will experience showers in next 24 hours. Later, the rain will move to the rest of the State in next 72 hours.
As per Mohapatra’s prediction districts like Boudh, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kalahandi and Kandhamal districts could experience rain starting from today, added Mohapatra.
“We are expecting a normal weather this year and would keep farmers updating on a regular basis on the rainfall,” he assured.
