Mumbai: In a major relief to Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami, BCCI has cleared him of match-fixing charges levelled against him by his wife Hasin Jahan, who had claimed that the cricketer had allegedly taken money from one Mohammed Bhai through a Pakistani woman named Alishba.

Shami has been given a Grade ‘B’ annual retainership contract, which will fetch him 3 crore rupees. He will also be free to play in the Indian Premier League for his franchise, the Delhi Daredevils, starting from April 7.

The BCCI had decided to withhold Shami’s contract after his wife made a series of allegations and lodged a police complaint against him.

The allegations included adultery and domestic violence. However, the speedster has denied all the allegations.
