Modi-Xi Jinping bilateral meet today

Modi, XiXiamen: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a bilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping here on Tuesday. It will be the first meeting between Modi and the Chinese President after the resolution of the nearly two-month long stand-off in the Doklam area.

Chinese and Indian troops were engaged in a standoff since June 16 after the Indian side stopped the construction of a road by the Chinese Army.

On the last day of the 9th BRICS summit today, Modi will also participate in a Dialogue of Emerging Markets and Developing Countries here.

The 9th BRICS Summit has been very successful for India as it named terror groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad operating from Pakistani soil and a agreed on a common approach against terrorism by BRICS leaders in the Xiamen declaration yesterday.

Later, Modi will meet Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi today. After the summit and bilateral talks, Modi will depart for Nay Pyi Taw on the second and last leg of his two0nation visit.
