Modi leaves for Israel on first tour by an Indian PM

Modi visits IsraelNew Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday morning left for Israel on what will be the the first ever visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the country. During his three-day tour, Modi will hold talks with his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu on various issues of mutual interest.

The Prime Minister will also call on President Reuven Rivlin. In his message on social media before his departure, Modi said that major common challenges like terrorism will be discussed. He is also looking forward to interacting with the large vibrant Indian diaspora in Israel that represents an enduring link between the two countries, Modi tweeted.

The Prime Minister will also attend a CEOs forum in which heads of companies from both nations will participate and discuss their shared priority of expanding bilateral trade and investment.

The leader asserted that ‘the combination of India’s human resources and technology and Israel’s ingenuity will provide solution to share problems in diverse fields such as water, health, environment, education , space and security.

From Israel, Modi will commence his visit to Hamburg, Germany on Thursday evening to attend the 12th G-20 Summit.
