Mo Bus Driver Returns Cash Bag Of Rs 49500 To Passenger

Bhubaneswar: A bus driver working with the “Mo Bus’ service managed by the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) was today felicitated for returning a bag containing cash of Rs 49500 of a bus passenger.

The driver Biswanath Khatua employed with Traveltime, a company engaged by the CRUT was well appreciated for his honesty by the team.

CRUT officials said that the incident took place on Wednesday when Khatua stumbled upon a bag lying unattended while returning his bus on Route No. 25 to Mancheswar terminal point.

“ Khatua later handed over the bag to a traffic inspector engaged by the CRUT. Few hours after the owner of the bag reached the Master Canteen bus depot and inquired about the bag. Later the cash bag was returned to the legitimate owner,” said General Manager (Personnel and Administration) of CRUT, Dipti Mahapatro.

Currently, as many as 190 buses are plying under ‘Mo Bus’ service on 20 various routes in Bhubaneswar, Khordha and Cuttack. “This is not the first incident in which our drivers and employees have returned valuables. Few months ago we have returned a gold necklace which was left by a passenger. We are thankful to our drivers and employees for their selfless and inspiring act,” added Mohapatro.
