Misspelling of Lord Jagannath’s name on banners: Unconditional forgiveness from Sambit Patra demanded

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha ruling party, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has demanded an unconditional forgiveness from BJP National Spokesperson Sambit Patra over the row pertaining to the misspelling of Lord Jagannath’s name on banners.

Some BJD leaders and activists staged a demonstration near Jagannath Balabha Math and Market Chhaka in Puri against Sambit Patra today and torched his effigies including that of Puri MLA Jayanta Kumar Sarangi. Besides, they demanded that he should personally visit Puri City and seek unconditional forgiveness for the misspelling of Lord Jagannath’s name on banners.

It is to be noted here that both Sambit Patra and Sarangi had held a banner with the misspelling of Lord Jagannath’s name, which had triggered a massive outrage.
