Missing West Bengal Youth’s Body Recovered From Baitarani River In Odisha

Keonjhar: The body of a youth from West Bengal, who went missing near Bhimkund on December 25, 2019, was fished out from Baitarani River near at Dumuridiha ghat under Anandpur police limits in Odisha’s Keojhar district on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Rajendra Prasad Singh, a resident of Medinapur area in West Bengal.

According to reports, Rajendra along with his friends had come to Bhimkund in the district for a picnic. He ventured into river Baitarani to take a bath but fell into the deep water and drowned.

On being informed, local police and fire tenders reached the spot and started search operation  but failed to fish him out.

The search continued and Rajendra’s body was eventually recovered today. Anandpur police seized the body and sent it to a hospital for autopsy test.

” We recovered the body of a youth from Batarani River.  The body will be handed over to family members after the autopsy test,” police said.
