Rourkela: Body of a Class 9 student who had gone missing after falling into the water of Koel River here two days ago was recovered today.
Some locals spotted the body of the deceased identified as Nilesh Das floating in the river water near Pradhanpali area this morning and called up police. Later they fished out the body from the water on their own.
Police have seized the body for autopsy and launched a probe into the incident.
Notably, Nilesh, a resident of Koel Nagar area and a Class 9 student of MGM English Medium School, Jagada had been to Jhiripani bridge along with his friends last Thursday. However, he fell into the river due to carelessness while clicking a selfie subsequently and got swept away by the strong current in the river.
