Missing Ratna Bhandar keys: Probe panel asks SJTA to file affidavit

Puri: Justice Raghubir Das commission which is probing the missing of Ratna Bhandar (treasury) keys of Jagannath temple, on Monday directed the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) to submit an affidavit by August 7.

The commission gave the direction while conducting the first hearing over the issue at the Circuit house earlier today.

According to reports, hearing of the commission remained incomplete as the temple administration failed to submit details information regarding the issue in the form of an affidavit during the hearing, following which the commission directed the temple administration to submit affidavit in the next hearing slated for August 7.

Justice Raghubir Das while speaking to the newsmen said, “Earlier, four affidavits were filed pertaining to the issue. However, those were not based on any authentic data.  Besides, no affidavit was submitted by the government during today’s hearing for which the the hearing remained incomplete. I have directed the administration to submit the affidavit first. The hearing will be conducted after submission of the affidavit and further action will be taken.”

Puri district collector Arvind Agarwal, SJTA chief Pradip Mohapatra, additional collector, superintendent of police and others were present during the hearing.
