Missing Man’s Body Found In A Canal In Mayurbhanj

Mayurbhanj: A body of a man has been found in a canal near Jhadbeda village in the Mayurbhanj district. The deceased has been identified as Dhaneshwar Gua from Genteisahi village under Jashipur tehsil.

Reportedly on April 9, Dhaneswar went to asbestos along with his friend, Pitambar Behera. He also carried Rs 30,000 cash with him to the Bhanjakia market. However, he did not return home the same night.

Dhaneswar’s wife searched for him at various places. She also went to the Jashipur police station in despair and filed a missing complaint against her husband. Unfortunately, the police did not take any initiative immediately to search for her missing husband. Adding to it, she also met Mayurbhanj SI and briefed him about his husband’s missing case on April 11.

Later on Thursday, some fishermen found a body covered with huge rocks in the water while they were fishing in the canal. They immediately informed the police about the body and said that some miscreants may have covered the body in order to destroy the evidence.

On getting the information, the local police arrived at the spot and recovered the body. An investigation will be carried out, with the help of a scientific team and sniffer dog, today in the area to ascertain the cause behind the suspicious death. From the preliminary investigation, police have suspected Dhaneswar was murdered following which his body was thrown into the canal.
