Khordha: Tension prevailed in Dhalapathar village under Bugunia police outpost in Khordha district today after dead body of a missing minor boy was found from a nearby forest under mysterious circumstances and locals staged road blockade claiming he had been murdered.
Some locals spotted the victim identified as Biswajit Mohapatra, a Class-X student, in Kodabareni forest this morning and informed his family members.
After reaching the spot Biswajit’s family found burn marks on his face and alleged somebody had killed him after kidnapping.
Shantilata Mohapatra, mother of the deceased, claimed that he had gone missing since May 7 and she had lodged a case in connection with the incident at Dhalapathar out post. She held police inaction responsible for the death of her son.
Later, angry locals staged a blockade on Khordha-Dhalapathar road by burning tyres and keeping stones.
Police have seized the body for autopsy by reaching the spot and started investigation into the suspected murder.
