Missing 5-year-old girl in Odisha’s Keonjhar found dead; Rape, murder suspected

Keonjhar: The body of a 5-year-old girl, who had gone missing  yesterday, was found in Jamirta forest in Odisha’s Keonjhar district on Monday .

The deceased, identified as the daughter of Raghu Munda of Jamirta village under the Bamebari police limits in the district, was last seen playing near her house last evening when she was reported missing.

The family members searched for her whereabouts but did not find her. Later, her father lodged a missing complaint with Bamebari police last night

Today morning, some passerby spotted the body of the girl lying in the Jamirta forest near the village and alerted the police.

Bamebari PS IIC Amitabh Das reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it to a hospital for postmortem.

Meanwhile, The family members have alleged that the minor girl was taken to the forest by someone and killed after raping her.
