Bhanjanagar: Panic gripped Landei Sahi village under Bhanjanagar police limits in Ganjam district last night after some unidentified miscreants torched at least seven vehicles.
As many as five bikes, one Scooty and a Bolero were completely reduced to ashes in the incident which took place in the wee hours of night.
Smokes were seen billowing out of one resident Dayanidhi Behera’s house located near the Landei Sahi-Chhedabhuin Road at around 4 AM in the night while the whole village was busy in ‘Danda Jatra’ revelry. After reaching the spot and taking stock of the situation his family members found the vehicles on fire and launched firefighting efforts. However, before they could douse the flames all seven vehicles were gutted in the blaze completely.
Bhanjanagar Police have reached the spot and started investigation after seizing the burnt vehicles. It suspects past enmity behind the incident.
