Miscreants make failed attempt to snatch woman’s jewellery in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Throwing an open challenge to police, unidentified miscreants made an unsuccessful attempt to snatch gold ornaments from a woman in Sailashree Vihar area in the city today morning.

The incident took place at around 5.30 am in the morning when the victim woman, whose identity is yet to be stablished, was returning home after attending a gym session in an institution located in Phase III area.

A group of five bike-borne youths intercepted her at the knifepoint and asked to handover the valuables. However, the woman fought back and screamed to gather people which foiled the loot attempt. Later, as the victim’s husband rushed to the spot and tried to nab the looters, they attacked and injured him with sharp weapon and fled away.

A case has been lodged at the Chandrasekharpur Police Station in connection with the incident and an investigation is underway.
