Cuttack: Three armed robbers riding a KTM sports bike allegedly decamped with Rs 50 lakh after firing at the car of a homoeopathy doctor near Kapursingh on Cuttack-Dhenkanal road today.
The incident took place when the Dhenkanal-based doctor BK Mohapatra was on his way from Bhubaneswar to Dhenkanal with the cash to strike a land deal.
“The miscreants first threw mud on the windshield for which I had to change the direction of the car. Later I dashed the car and one of them fell on the ground. However one of them fired at the car and decamped with the cash bag,’ said Nirakar Prusty, the driver of the car.
Police have started an investigation after getting a formal complaint from the victim.
