Balangir: In a midnight heist, unidentified miscreants burgled Rs 5 lakh and gold ornaments worth lakhs from a house in Salepada village under Muribahal police station under Balangir yesterday.
As per the report, one Bedabar Gahir’s had been to Titilagarh hospital with her wife last night, who was reporting labour pain when the loot took place. A group of burglars entered into the house by cutting the window grills late in the night and decamped with the cash and jewellery.
Bedabar found his house ransacked after return from hospital this morning.
Muribahal Police reached the spot and carried out the preliminary investigation with the help of the scientific team and sniffer dog.
Efforts are underway to trace the absconding burglars.
