Rayagada: Unidentified miscreants allegedly looted Rs 3 lakh from a businessman near a private bank in the Town this afternoon. The victim G Maheswar Rao has lodged a formal complaint with the Rayagada Town police station.
The victim said that he has kept the money in a bag. “I have parked the motorcycle and went to an ATM. In the meantime, the two miscreants came and decamped with the cash. I suspect both of them following me for around one hour,” alleged Rao.
Police have started an investigation after getting the formal complaint. “We are analysing the footage of the CCTV installed at the bank. We suspect the involvement of miscreants from Ganjam district in the crime,” said a police official.
