Miscreants loot Rs. 3.5 lakh from truck driver on Cuttack-Sambalpur NH in Odisha

Cuttack: In a broad day light road robbery, unidentified miscreants looted Rs 3.5 lakh from a truck driver in Odisha. The loot took place on the Cuttack-Sambalpur National Highway on Wednesday. After committing the crime, the miscreants fled from the scene.

According to reports, four bike borne miscreants approached a running TATA 407 goods carrier truck when it was passing through Lingapada village under Gurudijhatia police limits in Cuttack district.  They obstructed way of the truck and attacked the driver with sharper weapons and managed to loot an amount of Rs.3.5 lakh from him. The truck was reportedly on its way to Cuttack from Badamba.

The victim driver has been identified as Akula Palai of Badamba, Cuttack.

After getting a tip off police personnel from Gurudijhatia police station and Dhabaleswar Police Out Post reached the spot. The injured person was then sent to the Berhampur Community Health Centre.

Police has lodged a case in this matter and investigation is underway.
