Miscreants loot Rs 11 lakh from van at gunpoint in Sundergarh

Rourkela: Throwing an open challenge to police bike-borne miscreants looted cash worth Rs 11 lakh from a cash van in Kuanrmunda area of Sundergarh district today.

As per the report, officials of a private finance farm were carrying the cash meant for the beneficiaries under different government schemes when the loot took place. A group of five bik-borne miscreants intercepted the van, a Mahindra Bolero, near Kuanrmunda panchayat office and snatched away the cash bag by putting the officials at gunpoint.

The security guard who was present in the cash van was attacked mercilessly by the looters who resorted to blank firing and broke his gun during the loot.

The security guard was later rushed to Kuarmunda Community Health Center (CHC) for treatment.

Kuanrmunda Police has reached the spot and started an investigation to nab the culprits.
