Berhampur: Throwing an open challenge to police unidentified miscreants snatched away a gutkha-laden pickup van from its driver near Aska in Ganjam district today.
The incident took place early this morning while the pickup van was on its way to deliver the gutkha consignment Nuagaon. On Aska-Nuagaon road at least four looters intercepted the van and forced the driver to get down. Later, they vanished from the spot by driving away the vehicle, says reports.
The loot gutkha consignment will worth over Rs 1 lakh said the victim driver, who also lodged a complaint with Aska Police.
An investigation is underway to trace the absconding looters.
