Cuttack: Miscreants allegedly looted gold ornaments from a jewellery shop in CDA Sector-6 area of Cuttack city on Wednesday night.
As per reports, two people entered the jewellery at around 9.30 pm yesterday and looted the ornaments after threatening the owner at gunpoint.
After ransacking the shop, the miscreants were trying to flee but one of them was nabbed by locals, who thrashed him and handed him over to police.
The arrested burglar has been identified as S Surya Rao (27) of Ganjam district.
Preliminary investigation by police revealed that other members of the gang also hail from Ganjam.
A manhunt has been initiated to nab the absconding burglars.
