Keonjhar: Unidentified miscreants have looted cash and jewellery worth lakhs of rupees from two houses in Gadabandhagoda village under Ramachandrapur police limits in Keonjhar district last night.
As per the report, the burglary took place at the houses of two locals namely Arta Nayak and Jagannath Nayak, late in the night while their families had been to watch an opera show which was being staged on the outskirts of the village.
Burglars broke into the houses by removing the doors and took away cash worth Rs 20,000 along with gold jewellery valued over Rs 6 lakh by breaking lockers.
The victim families came to know about the loot after reaching their houses in the wee hours today and called up local police.
Ramachandrapur Police rushed to the spot and carried out the preliminary investigation with the help of scientific team and sniffer dog.
