Balasore: Throwing an open challenge to police yet again, unidentified miscreants looted cash from an ATM unit in Nilagiri block in the district last night.
As per the report, some customers who reached the Axis Bank ATM located at Santaragadia Bazar this morning found the unit vandalized. They immediately called up the concerned bank authorities as well as police.
After police reached the spot and conducted the preliminary investigation it came to notice that, the cash tray of the teller machine had been cut open with the help of a gas cutter and currencies are missing.
While the exact amount of cash looted from the ATM is yet to be assessed, an investigation is underway by bank authorities in this regard.
