Berhampur: Unidentified miscreants targeted and killed a youth with bombs over suspected past enmity in Badagumula village under Gopalpur police limits in Ganjam district last night.
The deceased has been identified as Sushant Sahu (37) of the same village.
Sushant was watching IPL match on his smartphone at a place in the village at around 8.30 pm in the night, when a group of assailants approached him on a bike. With a motive to eliminate him they hurled two bombs at him, one of which hitting his body. He died in the explosion on the spot.
While tension prevailed in the area following the murder, police rushed to the spot and sent the body for autopsy.
Efforts are on to trace the absconding assailants involved in the attack.
