Miscreants hurl bombs at Sarpanch candidate’s house in Odisha

Cuttack: Miscreants reportedly hurled two bombs at the house of a Sarpanch candidate at Ratapat village under Baramba Police Station limits of Cuttack district last evening.

Three miscreants came on a bike and hurled two bombs at the house of BJP-supported Sarapanch candidate, Magiram Behera at around 9.50 PM yesterday. Luckily, no one was injured due to the bomb blast.

After the explosion of the bombs, the family members and neighbours of Behera came out of their houses but before anyone could notice them, the miscreants fled the spot.

While the exact reason behind the bombing incident is yet to be known, it is assumed that the incident is the fallout of political rivalry.

Meanwhile, Baramba Police is said to have started an investigation into the matter.

In another such incident, a youth was killed while at least two others sustained burn injuries following a bomb explosion at Badasa village under Khandapada police limits of Nayagarh district over alleged political enmity yesterday.
