Ganjam: Some unidentified miscreants broke into a house and robbed gold jewellery in Nimakhandi village under Sadar police limits in Berhampur city of Ganjam district in Odisha on Friday night.
According to reports, the house belongs to Simanchal Samal. The robbers broke into his house from the back door late in the night while everyone were in deep sleep.
The looters have robbed Rs 50,000 cash, 15 grams of gold, silver utensil and other valuable items by breaking the locks of the almirah.
The family members got to know about the robbery today in the morning and reported about the incident with Sadar police station.
On getting the information, the cops arrived at the spot and initiated an investigation into the matter.
