Sambalpur: In heinous crime, a group of miscreants beheaded a man while he was asleep and decamped with the severed head in Tileimala village under Ainthapali police limits in Sambalpur district last night.
The deceased has been identified as Satyanarayan Munda.
The victim who went to bed last night after dinner was found dead with the head missing by his family members this morning. He was sleeping inside a mosquito net in the open in the patio area when the miscreants beheaded him.
Satya’s family members immediately called up police and informed the matter.
“While the reason behind the beheading is yet to be ascertained our scientific team and dog squad have arrived at the spot for investigation. Police suspect role of past enmity behind the incident,” informed Bhawani Shankar Udgata, SDPO, Sambalpur.
