Some unidentified miscreants reportedly attacked a woman police constable near Laxminarayanpur under Derabisi police limits in Kendrapada district while she was travelling with some vital documents of the arrested Sarathi Baba’s case.
According to reports, one Mamata Malick was carrying some documents along with one of her relatives to submit them at the fore scenic laboratory in Bhubaneswar.
However, all of a sudden some miscreants, apparently the followers of the controversial spiritual leader, came by a numberless bike and car and waylaid the constable and tried to snatch away the files by attacking her with a knife.
When some locals, after being alerted, rushed to the site, the miscreants fled from the spot.
Meanwhile, police have launched an investigation into the incident.
